One thing my cooperating teacher and I are going to have students do is the "Favorite Poem Project." This project is adapted for middle schoolers from the Boston University's video project.
That can be viewed here:

We are going to show our students this, and then they have to choose a favorite poem and we will video tape them reading the poem and telling us their story.
Here's my favorite poem:

Poets.org is another one of my favorite websites...especially for teachers and students. But, it has also become quite handy for personal use as well.
What's your favorite poem? Leave me a comment!
"This is Just to Say" by William Carlos Williams.
ReplyDeleteI can just taste the plum when I read it.
I will check it out! :)
